Justin Steele Shines in First Career Complete Game
Cubs Pitcher Dominates Against Giants
Chicago Cubs pitcher Justin Steele pitched a two-hitter for his first career complete game on July 5th against the San Francisco Giants.
The 26-year-old left-hander faced only 27 batters, allowing just two singles and striking out five. It was the first complete game by a Cubs pitcher since Jake Arrieta in 2016.
Steele's impressive performance helped the Cubs secure a 4-2 victory over the Giants. Seiya Suzuki homered for Chicago, while Patrick Wisdom drove in two runs.
Steele has been impressive all season long, posting a 3.17 ERA in 16 starts. He has quickly emerged as one of the Cubs' most reliable starters.
The Cubs are now 45-40 on the season and are currently in contention for a Wild Card spot. Steele's complete game is a major boost to their playoff hopes.
